We live in an incredibly significant hour. Perhaps with only the exception of the first century church, no other generation has witnessed such dramatic displays of the Holy Spirit. Prayer and evangelism are growing in the church worldwide. Mission’s agencies estimate that the Gospel will be preached to every nation and people group by 2020. The Lord has accomplished much through His bride in the earth across hundreds of streams.
At the same time we also recognize there is a mounting crisis in the church. Modern ministries have begun to diverge from biblical orthodoxy and substitute another gospel, in some cases denying the deity of Christ and the inerrancy of the Scriptures. The last four American generations have seen a decline in born-again believers from 65% to 4% in this current generation.
This decline has contributed to a great moral crisis that is sweeping the nation. Issues such as abortion, human trafficking and same-sex marriage have become commonplace. The challenges are too great to number.
Though the crisis is great and the need for revival greater, God is stirring His bride to stem the tide of the spiritual crisis and answer the mounting challenges with power. God is calling forth a Praying Church throughout the earth who will engage in intercession and proclamation unto a dramatic release of the Holy Spirit’s power. Across thousands of streams Christianity will return to its apostolic foundations unto seeing the greatest reformation the earth has ever witnessed.
Composition
The Praying Church is comprised of ministries and leaders from a variety of streams in the Body of Christ who desire to see the church become the praying, fasting, prophetic witness to the nations she is destined to become unto the fulfillment of the Great Commission and the Return of the Lord Jesus.
The Praying Church is not a network, but rather a relational coalition and influence hub designed to encourage and resource churches and church networks worldwide.
Seven Agreements
Those who are part of The Praying Church are not bound by membership but a deep commitment to a non-negotiable value system. Each of these values is expressed in local churches and networks in their own distinct ways. These commitments are:
- Prayer Based Community – Establishing prayer as the centerpiece of body life
- Fasted Lifestyle – Embracing and living the Sermon on the Mount
- The Word of God – Testifying to the divinity of Christ and the truth of the Scriptures
- Great Commission – Engaging in compassion and justice initiatives to the lost, the poor and the oppressed.
- Supernatural Ministry – Operating in the power of the Spirit to accomplish works of ministry, from the foundation of intimacy with God.
- Historic Breakthrough – Contending for revival and spiritual breakthrough in a manner witnessed by the Apostles in the book of Acts.
- End Times – Preparing the Bride with urgency for the Lord’s return
Methodology
Through conferences, events and resources from a broad base of leaders the Praying Church exists to inspire renewal in the Church, revival in the nations and prepare the bride for the return of the Lord. In order to see this accomplished we must:
- Promote a culture of prayer in the church worldwide
- Participate in deeds of Justice and compassion that exalt Jesus by promoting the sanctity of life, care for the fatherless and help for the poor and oppressed.
- Proclaim the apostolic Gospel of the Kingdom with its sole way of salvation through Jesus, requiring repentance.
- Practice the Fasted Lifestyle with a spirit of simplicity and sincerity pursuing complete obedience to Jesus.
- Pursue reformation in the church, through a Christ-centered, Spirit empowered expression of Christianity.
